TTR filed a mining permit application for South Taranaki iron sands. The 65.76 km2 area lies 22-35 km off Patea, filed 26 July 2013.
Independent research shows support for iron ore harvesting from South Taranaki seabed
A survey found strong Taranaki support for TTR's seabed iron ore plan. 87% of 327 people surveyed backed the project, TTR said on 6 June 2013.
