- Zhang Bingnan, deputy Party secretary and president of CCCC Group, toured six dredging platforms, three environmental platforms and two marine engineering platforms at the Shanghai base.
- The marine engineering platforms include the full-system joint land-based pilot verification platform for deep-sea mineral resources.
- He urged the center to advance into deep-sea and open-ocean research, seabed resource development and marine energy utilisation alongside its core dredging business.
On July 15, Zhang Bingnan, deputy Party secretary and president of CCCC Group, visited the Dredging National Center’s Gucui Road test base in Shanghai for an inspection.
Zhang Bingnan toured the center’s six major dredging platforms, including the dredging process and equipment test platform, the large-scale slurry pump and pipeline transport test platform series, and the dredger simulation platform; its three major environmental platforms, including the platform for safe treatment and resource utilization of contaminated sediment; and its two major marine engineering platforms, including the full-system joint land-based pilot verification platform for deep-sea mineral resources. He was briefed in detail on the operation of each platform and on progress in major research projects, and held in-depth exchanges with the center’s leadership and frontline researchers. He fully affirmed the results the Dredging National Center has achieved in serving major national strategies, implementing the group’s strategic plans, pursuing independent innovation in science and technology, and promoting the commercialization of innovation results.
Zhang Bingnan stressed that, looking toward the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the Dredging National Center should thoroughly study and grasp General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on scientific and technological innovation and on the work of central enterprises, implement CCCC Group’s General Guiding Opinions, stay firmly anchored to the goal of building a world-class source of original dredging and marine technology, and resolutely shoulder its mission as a national strategic scientific and technological force. While consolidating the foundations of its core dredging business, the center should actively advance into strategic emerging industries and future industries such as deep-sea and open-ocean research, seabed resource development, and marine energy utilization. It should place greater emphasis on original basic research in the dredging and marine fields, strengthen the promotion, application and industrialization of major scientific and technological achievements, and better play the leading role of a national-level research platform. It should give greater weight to green, low-carbon and artificial intelligence technologies in guiding and integrating with research directions and industrial applications, continuing to consolidate CCCC Group’s systematic global leadership in dredging science, technology and industry. It should also continue to motivate researchers to innovate and build a comprehensive support system for scientific and technological innovation.
