On September 24, the concluding report meeting of the “Deep-Sea Mineral Resources Development and Utilization” key-industry patent navigation project, undertaken by the Hubei Patent Examination Cooperation Center of the Patent Office of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (the Hubei Center), was held at the Changsha Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CRIMM).
Focusing on the core key technologies of the deep-sea mineral resources development industry, the Hubei Center reported on the results of the patent navigation research from a patent perspective, covering research and development priorities, technical barriers, portfolio strategies, and technical cooperation in the field of deep-sea mineral resources development globally, within China, and at CRIMM. Through patent intelligence analysis, it also provided CRIMM with guidance and recommendations on technological innovation, regional cooperation, and talent recruitment.
At the meeting, CRIMM’s deep-sea mineral resources development team exchanged views with the Hubei Center’s experts on applying the navigation results and on further cooperation.
Going forward, CRIMM will fully leverage the role of patent navigation in supporting industrial planning and innovative development, promote the practical application of the patent navigation results, foster coordinated development between patent navigation and industrial innovation, and contribute to scientific and technological innovation and technical progress in the field of deep-sea mineral resources development.
Relevant personnel from the Changsha Intellectual Property Administration, the Hubei Center, and CRIMM took part.
