The Da Yang Hao (Ocean), a comprehensive survey vessel designed by the 701 Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) and built by Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company, has recently made its maiden voyage to the western Pacific. The vessel represents the highest level of China’s shipbuilding industry and marine science and technology.

The Da Yang Hao is China’s first new-type global-class comprehensive survey vessel designed and built on the principles of green operation, informatization, modularization, convenience, comfort and internationalization. It integrates multiple disciplines, functions and technical methods on a single platform. It is a new type of ocean-going comprehensive resource survey vessel focused primarily on the exploration of a wide range of ocean resources, while also serving research needs across multiple deep-sea fields.
