IOM delegate Kamila Mianowicz attended a workshop on standardizing Regional Environmental Management Plans in the Area, hosted by Germany in Hamburg from 11 to 13 November 2019.

Two trainees, from Thailand and Nigeria, completed a six-week Interoceanmetal Joint Organization training programme in polymetallic nodules project management in Szczecin, Poland.

The IOM-2019 scientific expedition aboard R/V Gelendzhik ran from 9 May to 2 August 2019 to explore polymetallic nodule blocks H22_NE and H33.

IOM's Director General T. Abramowski and Deputy Director General P. Balaz represented the company at the 25th International Seabed Authority Session in Kingston, Jamaica, from 11 to 26 July 2019.

The R/V Gelendzhik conducted exploration work in IOM's Pacific licence area from May to July 2019 under its ISA contract extension program.
