Delft (Netherlands) IOM representatives took part in the annual meeting between the International Seabed Authority Secretariat and the contractors with deep-sea exploration contracts in the international deep-seabed, held in Delft (Netherlands) from 4 to 7 December 2022. Delegates gathered at the three-day meeting hosted by Allseas and the Technical University Delft to discuss areas of common interest. Topics discussed included development and consolidation of the regulatory framework for activities in the Area, Agenda 2030, protection of marine environment (EIS/EIA process), implementation of ISA Marine Scientific Research Action Plan, capacity building of developing states members of ISA, contractors’ training programs, the data management (Deep Data) and qualification of new technologies.
