Mianowicz took part in the ISA’s workshop on enhancing genetic approaches to advance deep-sea taxonomy for biodiversity assessment in the Area. The meeting was held from 23 to 25 November 2022 and gathered experts from the scientific community, exploration contractors, government and regional organizations from 20 countries. The aim of the meeting was to explore the potential of environmental DNA (eDNA) as a non-destructive, cost-effective and easily replicable methodology for studying deep-sea biodiversity.
