Nautilus Minerals appoints Vandervegt as CFO, secretary

NAUTILUS MINERALS OFFICER APPOINTMENT

Effective Sept. 2, 2016, Nautilus Minerals Inc. has appointed Gavin Vandervegt as acting chief financial officer and corporate secretary of the company.

For the five years prior to this appointment, Mr. Vandervegt held the position of group financial controller of the company. Before joining Nautilus, Mr. Vandervegt was the finance director of Katanga Mining, a copper company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, with assets located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Mr. Vandervegt has more than 15 years of commercial experience, predominantly within the resources sector, including financial reporting, management reporting, project management, corporate governance, commercial negotiations and business analysis. A qualified chartered accountant, Mr. Vandervegt has worked in both site-based and corporate roles in Australia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Africa.

About Nautilus Minerals

Nautilus is the first company to explore the ocean floor for polymetallic sea floor massive sulphide deposits. Nautilus was granted the first mining lease for such deposits at the prospect known as Solwara 1, in the territorial waters of Papua New Guinea, where it is aiming to produce copper, gold and silver. The company has also been granted its environmental permit for this site.

Nautilus also holds highly prospective exploration acreage in the Western Pacific (granted and under application), as well as in international waters in the Central Pacific.
