On August 25, in accordance with the project management requirements of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s 863 Program, the expert review meeting for the “Sea Trial Outline for the Ore-Lifting Pump and Pipe Transport Test System” project of Changsha Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CRIMM) was held in the company’s Meeting Room 7.
The “Sea Trial Outline for the Ore-Lifting Pump and Pipe Transport Test System” is part of the key 863 Program project “Key Technologies and Equipment for the Mining and Transport of Deep-Sea Polymetallic Nodules and Cobalt-Rich Crusts” undertaken by the Deep Sea Institute. Seven experts took part in the meeting as members of the review panel: Professor Ren Ping of Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Professor Wan Buyan of Hunan University of Science and Technology; researchers Yang Ning and Xiang Changsheng of the Institute of Deep-sea Science and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Sanya; researchers Tao Chunhui and Bao Gengsheng of the Second Institute of Oceanography; and researcher Hu Jianyuan of the 701st Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. Deputy general manager Li Maolin, deputy director Zhou Yun of the Science and Technology Management Department, the main leaders and researchers of the Deep Sea Institute, and representatives of partner organizations attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the expert panel heard the report on the sea trial outline given by project leader Professor Jin Xing, carefully examined the relevant materials, raised questions and held discussions on the issues concerned, and put forward suggestions for improvement. After discussion, the panel concluded that the sea trial outline submitted by the project team conformed to the relevant regulations of the 863 Program, and unanimously agreed to pass the sea trial outline review.
