Diamond Fields International Ltd. has appointed Gooroodeo (Mahen) Sookun as chief financial officer of the company, succeeding Waldo Pienaar, who has resigned effective April 30, 2008, to pursue other business interests.
Mr. Sookun, a director of the company since May, 2007, is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, U.K., and holds an MBA (finance) from the University of Leicester, U.K. Over the last 15 years, Mr. Sookun has been a corporate finance executive in diverse sectors such as public utilities, agriculture, textiles, mining and real estate development in Mauritius, Mozambique and Sierra Leone. Previously, Mr. Sookun was the group finance and administrative manager for Titanium Resources Group Ltd., a company operating in Sierra Leone listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
