Namibian Minerals Corp. has made the first sale of diamonds from its Namibian operations.
A parcel of 5,093 carats was sold in Antwerp earlier this week for
$913,388.40 (U.S.). This parcel represents diamonds recovered during the company’s mining and sampling operations from its Luderitz Bay and Hottentot Bay grants. The average carat value of the parcel was $179.31 (U.S.).
The parcel excluded all stones of more than two carats, apart from one
10.23 carat stone which sold for $25,575 (U.S.). These larger stones and fancy coloured stones are being accumulated for separate sale to maximize their higher market value.
The company is pleased with the market’s response to its first Namibian
sales which are in line with its expectation.
Mining recoveries continue in the Koichab prospect of the company’s
Luderitz Bay grant.
