Diamond Fields Resources Inc. has appointed Kieran Harrington as vice-president, exploration, and Djeneba Coulibaly Sagara as country manager for Burkina Faso. Mr. Harrington, whose appointment is subject to customary approvals by the TSX Venture Exchange, brings a wealth of expertise in West African gold exploration and, most importantly, discovery.
Mr. Harrington is a professional geologist with more than 35 years of experience in the metals exploration and mining sector and has a strong record of discovery, particularly in gold in West Africa. Mr. Harrington was at the core of the discovery teams at Wassa, Ghana and the Komana/Yamnfolila deposits in Mali in his capacity as chief geologist and chief operating officer at Glencar Mining PLC. Before joining DFR Mr. Harrington provided consultancy services to the mining sector in West Africa and particularly in Nigeria where PW Nigeria Ltd. was amongst his major clients.
Additionally, DFR is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Sagara as country manager for Burkina Faso. Ms. Sagara has more than 20 years of experience in senior administrative and finance roles in West African companies, including over 17 years working for various mining and exploration companies. Ms. Sagara’s significant record, which has included roles as diverse as country manager, deputy general manager, and administrative and financial director, will significantly benefit the company in developing its activities in Burkina Faso.
