Diamond Fields International Ltd. is proceeding with
arbitration against the government of Liberia alleging it
wrongfully terminated the licence on the company’s Henry Town gold
project. Proceedings are being brought before the International Center
for Settlement of Investment Disputes in Washington, per the
licence agreement.
The company undertook an exploration program for gold in the licence
area and a group 1,500 soil samples were analyzed by Alex Stewart
Assayers, an NI 43-101-compliant laboratory. An initial appraisal of the
results indicated significant gold mineralization within discrete zones
of quartz veining.
Diamond Fields is seeking reinstatement of the licence or conversion to a mineral
development agreement, and monetary damages.
