The company has completed sea trials and testing in the North Sea. These trials included complete evaluation of the NamSSol mining system on the seabed and its launch and recovery from the vessel MV Kovambo. The performance of the mining system met expectations.
MV Kovambo departed the UK on Friday, December 12 for Namibia. Commercial mining operations will commence in the company’s Luderitz concession. The vessel’s estimated time of arrival in Namibia is January 5 1998.
