The minister of minerals and energy affairs, South Africa, has granted Nautical Diamonds (a 100% Namibian subsidiary) Sea area 12(d), an area of approximately 3,500 sq km. This region lies off the Olifant River between water depths of 200 to 500km. This more than doubles the company’s total concession holdings to 5,500 sq km.
