Mr President,

The Chinese delegation thanks the members of the Council and the members of the Legal and Technical Commission for their trust in and support for China Minmetals Corporation. As the sponsoring State, China will strictly fulfil its responsibilities and obligations as a sponsoring State in accordance with the law. We are also confident that China Minmetals will strictly comply with all the regulations of the International Seabed Authority, actively cooperate with all parties, and make its own contribution to exploring the deep sea, protecting the marine environment and using seabed resources sustainably.
